Tia Norfleet

NASCAR's First African American Licensed Driver

Brains, Beauty and Speed…… Tia Norfleet, the first female licensed NASCAR Driver.  She’s Black and We are proud.

NASCAR has been in existence for 63 years, this old boy network of drivers kept the door closed to minorities including females of any color but along came Ms. Tia.

The daughter of race car driver Bobby Norfleet, Tia was born on May 1, 1988 in Suffolk, Virginia.  Growing up watching and assisting dad was a great influence on NASCARS first and only African American female licensed driver.

Obtaining her license in 2011 was no small feet but Tia is proving herself that she is a force to be reckon with, sporting number 34 which was previously used by legend Wendell Scott NASCAR’s first African American drive is an honor she doesn’t carry lightly Tia plans to change the face of NASCAR.
