Seasons of Uncertainty

Have you ever been traveling on a highway for hours and the road has ended? You’re thinking, “How strange is this, I was certain that I was headed in the right direction.” You pull out your road map and you see nothing in the directions that forewarns you that the highway is ending. There are no alternate routes and unfortunately, your vehicle is not equipped with a GPS (Global Positioning System) that will further instruct you or give you an alternate route to continue on to your destination. So it is in our journey with the Lord. The Father will allow us to only go so far for so long, on the same spiritual highways of our lives; depending on others to set our course, our values, and our worth.

Eventually, this highway will end. Our choice to stay in a place of complacency has kept us detached from the Father. Our dependency on people, places, or things has caused our growth to become stagnated and/or blocked. We have become “spiritually barren”.

The word block or blockade means: to hinder the passage, to restrict by interposing an obstruction, to shut off from view, to interfere with the activity or progress of, to prevent normal function, to restrict the exchange of…

We now have to turn our attention to the Father to get refocused, redirected, and seek His will at this place, which may seem confusing, and even unexpected. We have entered a season of betwixt and between, which causes us to become completely reliant upon the Father.

In Psalm 119:1-3 declares (Message) You’re blessed when you stay on course, walking steadily on the road revealed by God. You're blessed when you follow his directions, doing your best to find him. That's right—you don't go off on your own; you walk straight along the road he set.

Everyone will face seasons of uncertainty from time to time. It is in this middle place of connection between origination and destination where you face your storms, delays, stress, apprehension, and battles with insecurities. However, you are in a good place! This is where fear meets faith; doubts are turned into beliefs; dead ends becomes open highways; closed doors are opened; cisterns of strength are found in hidden places, and God's grace is bestowed upon you. You are not where you were (the familiar), you are not where you are going (the unfamiliar), and you are not even sure where you are right now (the unknown).

Hebrews 11:6 declares: But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

What do you do when you encounter that uncomfortable place? Where do you turn, and whom do you turn to? It is in this place that creates both problems and possibilities. We are no longer in control of our destiny; we must surrender our will to the will of the Father in order to stay on course. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith… God is bound, by his character and His Word.

Jeremiah 29:13And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

The problem that we face as believers is that we cannot allow our intellect to reason with the sovereignty of God; it interferes with the creative work that the Father is doing on the inside of us. It is easy to hang around in the garden room with the same flowers (the familiar), but it is hard to step out and blend in with the mixed arrangements (unfamiliar). I will find my true-identity in Christ; I will become different. Old things are passed away, and all things are become new. If we do not allow our faith to unite with our fears, we will fail to notice opportunities and blessings that are set before us.

The Father is speaking to us, He is saying, "Step into the river of life and be washed and carried off by the Holy Spirit into His healing and cleansing stream of His divine love. Renew your mind with the vision God has given you for your ministry, your life, your peace and your destiny. There is a fountain of life with your name on it. It awaits you as you step out of the familiar and into the unknown. We cannot see it because we have not left the familiar. Break loose and the fountain of life shall break forth; rivers and streams of opportunities. Come and follow the Master and I will lead you into a wealthy place. As your soul prospers so shall you. I have not given you the spirit of fear, but power, love and a sound mind. My people are waiting for what I have put in you for the nations. Your cup is full; let me pour my anointing through you. You shall not be moved. I am your shield, your strength, your portion, your deliverer, your shelter, your strong tower, your present help in the time of need." When you are in a season of uncertainty, remember you serve a God who is certainly able to show up and do a “suddenly” in your life. Remember, process always comes before promotion.

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever.
